After being reminded of this car by the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I want one of these more than ever.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
GIVE IT TO ME NOW!
EDIT: I know it's slow and doesn't handle very well, but something about this car just makes it Jalop as f*ck. And I still want one. Badly.

Ha! I once borrowed one from a friend for a weekend. Unbearably slow. I once had to turn around and go back down the entrance hill at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca park because the car didnt have enough momentum and power to make it up the steep hill (and I was stuck behind a creeping tow truck). I charged up the batteries driving around the surrounding streets and went back at it. Hilarious!

Wanted one, but has only 2 seats, and has absolutely no place in the back for anything, and more over at the age they are right now, may need a battery replacement that can be upwards of $3K so it is like owning an impractical sports car, just with better gas mileage.

can do this and still get the same gas mileage

and slower.

That's quite a story. It certainly adds to the Jalop-factor of this car.

I saw one of these the other day. 1/10 would not drive.

That's what I was looking for way back when I bought my MR2... But the only ones to be found were automatics, and there was no way in hell I'd buy one with a slushbox. The second-gen Insight was such a disappointment after how radical the first one was.

haha, that's true, a big thing is just the aerodynamic shape of the Insight. The first gen weighs about the same as an old VW Bug, you could do some crazy swaps on it.

eh, this is a bad idea.

I agree, the 2nd gen looked and felt nothing like the original. And I wouldn't buy one with a CVT either, especially not after those Honda engineers made the manual gearbox as light as possible. CVT Insights weigh ~100 pounds more than their manual counterparts.

and they used super light materials to make the thing, so in a honda that means the cheapest plastic that could find..

No one makes a better manual than Honda... Why anyone buys an automatic Honda is beyond me.

Someone tell BMDW that his account has been hacked by an evil person trying to destroy his reputation.

K-series swaps are awesome. Helped a buddy do a K24/K20 swap on an EK hatch. It was putting down 222whp w/ stock Civic SI internals. That thing was a lot of fun to rip through Arizona canyons in.

Build your own out of a Civic.

This is hilarious. I like it though.
